About Me
As a Catholic priest and choreographer for 45 years, I have had a wealth of pastoral and artistic experience that I have shared with friends and "seekers." For me, God is a source of unconditional love. Jesus Christ is the human face of the God of "loving kindness." The Holy Spirit is the dynamic presence of God in the world and in the human heart. The God whom I have encountered in prayer, liturgy and the arts throughout my lifetime is always someone who accompanies the human person, no matter what the challenges a person faces. That is certainly true for me! My hope is that I can use this website to tell stories of the God who dwells with each of us in amazing ways.
My WorkWho am I? That's not an easy question to answer. I have never "fit" into a category! I have been a member of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) for 58 years. I have been an ordained Catholic priest for 45 of those years. I am as well a choreographer who believes that the psalmist's invitation to "praise God in the festive dance" was meant to be taken literally! The images on the right show me celebrating the Eucharist as well as some of the dances I have created for stage and sanctuary. Over the years I have been able to create a ministry of dance that included prayer services and feast day liturgies. My work with the Boston Liturgical Dance Ensemble can be seen at blde.org. I also created a dance/theater presentation of the Spiritual Exercises of St Ignatius of Loyola, which was performed at St Anne's Parish, Kingston, Jamaica as well as in many other venues. (It is also able to be seen on the BLDE website under the title "For the Greater Glory of God.")My major choreographic work is "A Dancer's Christmas", which was performed for 35 years at the Boston College Robsham Theater and most recently at the Ailey Citigroup Theater in New York City. I have been blessed with many wonderful pastoral and artistic opportunities!
